Wizards of Chess, Virtual Chess Club! Join us after school in learning this National Award Winning Program for chess club for the first session! Learning the game of chess promotes imagination, creativity, develops memory, teaches independence, inspires self-motivation, and develops a logical way of thinking. Students of all levels are welcome. Yes, even if your student does not know how to play, we will teach them! Each session is filled with different material, and all learning is done with encouragement and fun on an individual personal level!. . Make new friends and “see” old ones! Instructor: Veronica Rosa--owner of Wizard of Chess. What you need to know: Materials needed for the class will be provided and will be yours to keep. The kit will include a chess set and a packet to keep notes in with problem solving sheets. Kit pick-up will be Thursday October 23rd from 7-9pm at Somerset Elementary. If you can't make it--please email me and your kit will be dropped off Friday at your child's school (I will send an email to all registered students on Thursday)--the kit will be need to picked up on Friday at their school between school hours (7:30-2pm at all schools except Somerset 8am-3pm) as chess club starts Friday afternoon. When registering you will be asked for your student’s school and email, please make sure these are correct. Live instruction via Google Meet, you will be sent an email with the Google Meet code a day or two before class starts, so watch your email :) Advantages of Virtual Classes A set schedule, to help keep students on a normal school-day routine. Live teacher instruction. Students can ask questions and interact in real time. Community connection, live interaction with other kids their age. Will the virtual classes be run in a similar way as in-person classes? Yes, as closely as possible. Instructor’s will work to make the classes fun and interactive for kids.
