Nature Sense These programs are designed for seniors to promote connections with nature. Please note the May thru August classes will be at 10 am. Meet Naturalist Eloise Dietz for a hands-on introduction to this month's theme. Following the presentation participants will take a guided tour through various parts of the park's trails. You are encouraged to wear walking shoes and appropriate clothing for temperature and weather conditions. Please register one week in advance. Spring Pop-ups Wildflower Hike Tues, June 7 10-11:15 am $12 Head out to see if any of your favorite spring wildflowers are popping up in the close-by habitats of Thompson Park. We'll hike along trails near the water's edge and through the woodland and prairie. . On-The-Go Wild Edibles Hike Tues, July 12 10-11:15 am $12 As we stroll through various parts of Thompson Park, we'll be on the lookout for plants considered wild but edible. Identification of some may surprise you and others may not. We will harvest and maybe taste as we go! As the programs end, you will be "in the know"! . Insects on the Fly Tues, Aug 2 10-11:15 am $12 By August many insects have reached maturity and are out and about in all their glory. Butterflies, bees, ants, & dragonflies, are just a few of the many we'll capture, identify, and release. Are they friend or foe? What would nature be without them ...?
