Hike over to Dodge Nature Center and put your survival skills to the test! Practice building sturdy shelters and then put them to the test to see if they really help keep you warm! Try your hand at building fires and learn how to keep them going strong. Make friends and explore the woods in this series all about winter survival.
Location and time: All classes will start and end at Garlough where students will be checked in and checked out of the class. The Dodge Naturalist will leave from Garlough at 2:15 p.m. to walk students to the Nature Center where classes will be held at the Farm Education Building. At 3:15 p.m. the students will walk back with the Naturalist to Garlough where parents will pick them up by 3:30 p.m in the lobby area or they will join SAC if enrolled in the program. Students should come dressed for the weather, with boots, warm clothes, or raincoats as needed.
