Unique Uzbekistan
Travel along the Silk Road as we visit the ancient cities of Uzbekistan. We’ll begin and end in Tashkent, the capital city that, reinvented itself after decades of Soviet occupation. Next stop will be Samarkand, a city of mosques and madrassa, built in the 15th century by Temur Amir, ancient conqueror and modern-day hero of the Uzbeks. Then, we’ll join the throngs of holiday-goers for the Goldbroidery Festival in the timeless city of Bukhara to enjoy song, dance, and shopping for treasures.

Ancient Armenia
Situated at the Crossroads of History, Armenia has suffered a turbulent past. Over the last two centuries, it was first dominated by the Ottoman Turks, then by Soviet Russia. The country finally, gained its independence in 1991 with the fall of the Berlin Wall. We’ll explore Areni Cave where a 6000 year old wine press and an array of fermenting vats and storage pots were unearthed, view prehistoric standing stones, a pagan temple, and learn the truth of the Armenian Genocide.
