Adult Enrichment 2024-25

Discover essential health topics in each stand alone class designed for busy moms. Gain practical insights on maintaining fitness, understanding fertility awareness, navigating pregnancy with the right support professionals, and accessing diverse mental health resources. Enhance your well-being, make informed choices, and find the support you need for a balanced and healthy life. Free limited child-watch is available for participants in attendance of each class.  All classes are located at Guiding Star Wakota off of Robert St. and Butler St. in West St. Paul.

Health & Fitness for Busy Moms:

Come in comfortable clothes and shoes ready to move! We'll learn to incorporate simple strengthening exercises, a cardio workout and nutritional awareness into your daily schedule. There will be a group discussion. If you have 5 pound weights, bring them with you!

Medical Advantages of Fertility Awareness:

This class is an introduction to fertility awareness and its health benefits. Learn about charting physical signs and biomarkers of a woman's cycle. Charting assists in identifying the root cause of menstrual and ovulatory abnormalities.

OBGYN, Midwife, Doula: What's the Difference and Why does it Matter for Your Pregnancy and Birth:

Learn the roles and care models of an OB/GYN, a Midwife, and a birth doula or postpartum doula. These professionals bring different capabilities and approaches to your pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. Choosing the right care for you has a big impact on your health and your baby's health. This class is intended for those who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant.

An Introduction to the Different Kinds of Mental Health Supports:

Cognitive? DBT? EMDR? What do these mean? Learn about all the different types of mental health supports available for children and adults. Gain an understanding about individual therapy types, group therapy and other non-counseling mental health support resources. Ages 16+
