  • Learn-to-Swim Lessons: Level 4 (Ages 5 & Older)

    Level 4 - Stroke Improvement Participants, ages 5 and up, improve swimming skills, increase endurance and learn back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke. Skills include: Standing dive Feet-first surface dive and swim underwater Survival swim, 1 min. Tread water, 2 min. Front crawl and elementary backstroke, 25 yd. each Back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke, 15 yd. each Exit Skills: Jump into deep water, swim front crawl 25 yd. and elementary backstroke 25 yd. Swim breaststroke 15 yd. and back crawl 15 yd. Swim under water 5 yd. Prerequisite: Children must have completed Learn-to-Swim Lessons: Level 3 or have equivalent skills. Registration tip: Upon completion of required skills, register for Learn-to-Swim Lessons: Level 5.

    Multi-Sport Camp

    Multi-Sport (SC, FF, BS) DASH Sports Summer Multi-Sport camp includes fun skills training and games in three sports: Soccer, Flag Football, and Baseball. Key sports skills will be taught and practiced in all 3 sports so athletes will come out of camp with a great understanding of key skill components and gameplay of each sport. Camp ends with games/scrimmages the final day for each sport, where athletes can showcase their skills. Campers should wear athletic clothing/shoes and sunscreen. Bring a water bottle, snack, and a baseball glove. This is a great camp that produces well rounded athletes. Balls and other equipment are all provided. Multi-Sport Tykes (SC, FF, BS) DASH Sports Multi-Sport Tykes camps provide players an introductory experience to several popular sports games. This camp includes instruction in Soccer, Flag Football, and T-ball. Little athletes will learn how to run, throw, catch, kick, and more! This camp ends on the final day with fun scrimmages and games. Participants should bring a baseball glove, water bottle and wear athletic clothing & shoes. All other equipment is provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.

    Ninja Summer Camp This summer give your child an American Ninja Warrior Experience! Young Ninjas develop strength and agility during this camp by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliff hangers, tilted ladders; everything you need to put your ninja skills to work! This camp transfers well into ninja levels testing or enhances other athletic performances. All camps are coached by an experienced Ninja Trainer.

    One Day Class! Certified Babysitter’s Training (ages 11 & up) This course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Youth will learn skills in four core areas: leadership and professionalism, safety, basic care for infants and children and first aid.   • SSP - ACT Prep Class Virtual with Live Instructor

    ACT PREPARATORY COURSES Virtual ACT Prep Course: This course is designed for students who prefer to prep for the ACT in a virtual classroom. Four, three-hour classes are taught live via zoom by an Advantage instructor. Internet connection and a computer or tablet is required. Advantage Educational Programs provides an introduction to the ACT format and strategies for answering questions as well as instruction for the specific subject areas to be tested on the ACT College Entrance Exam. This 12-hour prep course (four 3-hour classes) is designed for students who wish to improve their test-taking skills and overall score on the ACT. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, science reasoning, math review and strategies, reading comprehension improvement, English strategies, writing essays, overcoming test anxiety, and time management. Tuition for the ACT prep course is a one-time fee of only $150 and in addition, students who register for this course may repeat the classes in future offerings, at no additional charge. Classes are offered throughout the year. An ACT Student Workbook will be provided in the first class, and students need only to bring notebook paper, pencils, calculator, and a small 3-ring binder or folder to class. The course will use instructors' videos, voice-overs, illustrations, and slides that guide you through all of the testing areas of the ACT. You will also be able to communicate with the instructor when you have questions or concerns. **You will need a gmail account to access the google classroom. Once students are enrolled, they are sent an access code for their class via email, as well as directions on how to begin the simple process of starting their class. The course fee includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind the wheel instruction. For the virtual classroom series, you must attend by logging in to the live broadcast at class time each day on a device that has the ability to be seen as well as heard for the entire class time. Please provide participant's email address during the registration process to send the meeting invite. This email needs to be accessible from the device being used. Participants missing class must wait for the next session to make up missed time.

    Home Alone (ages 7 & up) The dilemma: Do you feel your child knows what to do in an emergency situation? This DVD program includes a student workbook and hands-on Activities providing a superior program that students love and parents appreciate. Topics Include: Identifying Fire Safety Rules and how to use a Fire Extinguisher. What to do if trapped in a bedroom during a fire. Simple first aid — including cuts, burns, and a demonstration of abdominal thrusts for choking victims, whether for another person or when you’re by yourself. Understanding safety in the community, such as weather watches/warnings, aggressive dogs, and riding a bicycle on the street. Knowing the truth about abuse, abduction, and stranger danger. An all-new segment on digital safety and how to navigate the online world safely. Give your child solid training on becoming a self care kid and yourself peace of mind, knowing you’re helping him or her safely prepare for staying home alone and emergency situations.     Soccer DASH Sports Summer soccer camps provide players a well-rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense) training and skill-based games. Players will be challenged and grouped at an appropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day where athletes can showcase their skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack (spikes and shin guards are optional). Balls are provided. Soccer Tykes DASH Sports soccer Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the game of soccer. Key elements of dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing & shoes (spikes and shin guards optional). Soccer balls are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.
  • Summer Swim Club at Central Square (Ages 8-15)

    Are you looking for a local opportunity to refine your strokes and build endurance for swim team? Want some game time in the water with other swimmers? Summer Swim Club at Central Square is just the place to keep up your swimming muscles and enjoy the water. Workouts will include water safety skills, fundamentals of diving and building fitness as a swimmer. Please email mschlemmer@sspps.org to schedule. Skill requirement: Must be able to swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards backstroke. Come prepared with a one-piece swimsuit, goggles, water bottle, towel and snack. Eat a hearty breakfast!
