Art Appreciation Classes with Alan CookArts & CraftsPerspective in Art & Design The human form (face, body, and posture) are often found in designed artifacts. This class explores examples from fine art and architecture that arise consciously and subconsciously that have interesting and unintended consequences. Thur, July 14 1-2 pm 1 session - $5 Wire Sculpture 101 It's amazing what a thin piece of wire can become. This class calls for an appreciation of this form of artistry. Participants will try their hand at wire sculpture. Grab a needle nose pliers and join Alan Cook for two days of art appreciation. Wire will be provided. Thur & Fri, July 21 & 22 12:30-2 pm 2 sessions - $10 Space & Time as Factors in Design This class explores points of view that can be critical in the experience of an aesthetic climax. Examples demonstrating factors of perceptual sequence, perspective distortion, stereo-optics, scale, and context (lighting and background) are presented. Thur, July 28 1-2 pm 1 session - $5 Instructor: Alan Cook Alan Cook has taught at the college level and created his own works of art. You do not have to know how to crochet to participate. Your skills can be used in sorting bag types, cutting "plarn" (plastic yarn), or learning to crochet from others.
