    We invite students in grades five through eight to participate in our newly launched homework help program. This initiative offers a positive atmosphere for students to receive assistance with their assignments. In addition to completing homework, the program focuses on activities that foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the reinforcement of positive study habits. Each day, students will receive an after-school snack, which is included in the program fee. Transportation is also provided via bus home if needed. When registering you will be asked to select your students after class plans. The homework help bus stop locations may be different than the bus stop locations for to and from school routes. Bus stops are within walking distance from students' homes but may not be within a block or two. You can also pick-up your student by 4:30pm at the school. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where students can seek guidance, clarify concepts, complete assignments, and ultimately build stronger study habits and academic confidence. Each 8-week semester includes practical lessons in Spanish conversation fundamentals, advanced vocabulary, and verb conjugation for building full sentence structures. Students stay motivated through games, peer interaction, and fun cultural insights. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to provide your child with lifelong skills and a head start on bilingual success! What is Futura Language Professionals? Futura Language Professionals is a community-based language organization. We have been a leader and a pioneer in Spanish language programming since 2001. We are proud to say that thousands of children have been touched by foreign language instruction because of Futura programming. We partner with local schools in our communities to provide a convenient, onsite and long-term language program at an affordable price. Who instructs the Futura classes? Our teachers come from a wide range of backgrounds from former Spanish teachers with Masters Degrees in Education who are now stay at home moms, to native speakers who want to share their language and culture with us, to juniors and seniors majoring in Education or Spanish in college. All of our teachers have fluency or near fluency in the Spanish language and experience working with children. Additionally, most Futura instructors have lived or studied in Spanish speaking countries.

  • Advanced Fire Skill Series (Grades 5-8)

    Love to sit around a bonfire with friends? Come on out to Dodge this May to learn all the skills you need to be a bonfire master this summer! Practice building and maintaining fires using a variety of methods, from matches to magnifying lenses. Learn to be a responsible fire steward to prevent wildfires and maintain safety. Celebrate the end of the school year with a perfectly toasted marshmallow, roasted over your very own fire! Kids will be able to take the activity bus from Friendly Hills or Heritage to Dodge Nature Center, kids will be dropped off at the Marie Entrance and met by Dodge staff. You can also drop your student off at Dodge if you prefer at the Marie Entrance. **Kids will have to be picked up at Dodge Nature Center Marie Entrance, by 5pm by a parent or guardian--the activity bus is not provided to get home. If a student is picked up later than 5pm a charge will be applied by Dodge Nature Center for a late pick-up.
