  • 197 ACT Prep Online/Curso preparatorio ACT en línea (Grades: 9-12)

School District 197 Youth Enrichment Community Education is pleased to partner with Advantage Educational Programs. For the past 26 years, Advantage Educational Programs benefited thousands of students in Minnesota by preparing them for the college entrance exams. They offer ACT Preparatory Courses in more than forty high schools in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding area. Online ACT Preparatory Course This course is an excellent alternative for any student unable to attend in-school classes or for a student preferring to prepare for the ACT exam on their own, and study at their desired pace. The fee for this course is $80, and you may repeat the course at no charge until you graduate from high school. The online course will allow students to log-in for the course and proceed at their own pace. The course will be using Google Classroom to present the online course and it will be equivalent to the 12 hour classroom time. The course will use instructors' videos, voice-overs, illustrations, and slides that guide you through all of the testing areas of the ACT. You will also be able to communicate with the instructor when you have questions or concerns. Students can make up any class they miss at other available class locations and may also REPEAT any of the ACT prep courses by requesting the Self-Paced ACT Prep Course at no additional charge. Students can attend any missed classes at TRHS when the course if offered again and may repeat the course at no charge. **If you are on free/reduced lunch please contact us for a scholarship. **You will need a gmail account to access the google classroom. Your student's isd197.org account that is managed by google will not work--ISD197 blocks access to google classrooms outside the 197 domain. Once students are enrolled, they are sent an access code for their class via email, as well as directions on how to begin the simple process of starting their class. Students have the flexibility of working on classwork at their own pace around their own specific schedule. • GRASP Summer Correspondence (Grades: K-8)

**Orders are sent in to GRASP on April 30th. No late registrations will be taken. **Please make sure your address/email/phone number in your Tridistrict account are all up to date in order to receive correspondence from GRASP. GRASP is a nine-week correspondence program which helps students maintain reading and math skills while they are on summer vacation. It should take you and your child approximately one hour per week for nine weeks to complete each weekly lesson. We suggest parents order the grade level just completed. If there are extenuating circumstances, order the level that is appropriate for your child. Prices include curriculum packet, completion awards and scoring service. GRASP has 9 lessons to be submitted during the summer—one per week. Each lesson reinforces the basic skills typically found in most curricula at that particular grade level. GRASP staff score the lesson and return it to the student with comments. Please select the correct GRASP Section: You can order 1 subject for your student for $39.00, either math or reading. Upon registering you will fill out a questionnaire on your students school, grade and select either the math or reading booklet. If you select the section for both subjects the cost is $59.00, you will fill out a questionnaire for the grade level preferred for each subject. You can choose different grade levels for reading and math. Books will be delivered to your child's school and handed out by their homeroom teacher in late May/early June. **Children in grades 4 to 8 can choose to do GRASP online instead of using the book and scan sheets. The results of each question are shown immediately. If your student is grade 4-8 you will be asked registration questions and choose book or online.

  • Warriors - Packers Middle School Swim Team (Grades: 5-8)

Coached by the Two Rivers and South Saint Paul Head Swim Coaches This middle school program is for any athlete in 5th-8th grade who is interested in experiencing a taste of high school competitive swimming and is eager to improve their skills. With a focus on teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, swimmers of all levels come together to practice various strokes, techniques, and race strategies. Whether you're relatively new to the sport or have experience on a club team, the team encourages everyone to push themselves while having fun. Coaches provide guidance and motivation, creating an environment where each swimmer can develop confidence, set personal goals, and celebrate achievements in friendly competitions. This program is also a great way to cross-train to prepare for spring sports! The program will run for six weeks and include a potential home and away meet. No practice over Spring Break! Jammer-style swimsuits for boys and one-piece swimsuits for girls are highly recommended. Additionally, all athletes will need a pair of swim goggles (low-profile, not covering the nose, are recommended). Swim caps are also suggested, especially for any athlete with longer hair. Prerequisites: Athletes must not have been on the high school swim or dive teams. They must also be able to swim 25 yards (one length of the pool) in freestyle without stopping. • ISD 197 Safeway Driver's Education In-Person at TRHS Winter/Spring Classes (Jan-May)

School District 197 Youth Enrichment partners with Safeway Driving School to offer our Driver's Education classes. Safeway has been graduating safe teen drivers in the Twin Cities for over 50 years. Safeway’s only focus is creating safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers. It is critical that parents practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. Parent Classes are offered monthly in person or by distance learning (via Zoom). This class is not required but qualifies the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). Parents can sign up for a Parent Class on Safeway’s website. At a minimum, Safeway strongly encourages parents to review its parent information and watch the online Parent Class Videos at www.safewaydrivingschool.com. Cost of the teen package is $420 and includes the classroom, behind-the-wheel lessons and all materials. There are no hidden charges or additional fuel surcharges. Pay in full upon registration $420 or choose the payment plan: $250 at registration and $170 due the Friday before class starts. Students must be at least 14.5 years old to join the class. For parents, click HERE for more information. Classroom instructors and driving lessons are provided by Safeway Driving School. www.safewaydrivingschool.com. 651-351-9150
