No charge for the training, but participants must provide their own required instructor materials (printed or digital). Or join the smoking/chewing cessation without weight gain or withdrawal course. Dress comfortably and bring a pillow, sleeping bag, or blanket. You may be sitting or laying down for part of the session. The fee includes the class session, a reinforcement CD, and a lifetime membership for free future classes if reinforcement is desired. Part of the fee is donated to the American Lung and Heart Association. Smokers will have a 40 minute break off the school grounds to smoke their last final cigarettes. Intro to Shooting, Shotguns, Pistols, and RiflesWellness, Health & SafetyLearn the basic skills of shooting shotguns, pistols and rifles in a controlled and safe environment. Focus on safe firearm handling, marksmanship, and range etiquette. Pistols and rifles will be fired at fixed paper targets. Basic shotgun shooting will focus on fixed, then moving clay targets on the trap-and-skeet shooting fields. Targets, ammunition, firearms and safety equipment (PPE) are provided. Participants and self-provided firearms and PPE are subject to instructor approval. Instructors reserve the right to discontinue participant instruction at any time for any reason, with forfeiture of all fees. Completion of MN DNR Hunter’s Safety course suggested.
